CABELA’S APPROVES FRV GRANT REQUEST
Back in June of this year I had a great conversation with Diane Schneider from Cabela’s in Hoffman Estates regarding all of the great things our chapter does for the communities we serve; as well as for all of the kids events we support throughout the year. Diane said that our chapter would be a perfect candidate for this program and that she would nominate the FRV Chapter to be eligible to apply for the Cabela’s Outdoor Fund Grant Program. This program is solely funded by Cabela’s and is focused on supporting 501c3 organizations that support the outdoors and outdoor education. We were nominated by Diane and we received the grant application in July. The form was completed and submitted to Cabela’s by FRV board member Pete Barber.
This week we were notified that the FRV Chapter was granted a $5,000 grant courtesy of Cabela’s! The monies will be used for the following: $1,550.00 will be donated to the IL DNR to fund the new stocking trailer. $1,700.00 will be put towards stocking muskies in Lake Geneva and the balance of $1,750.00 will be put towards the costs for developing the new FRV website. Diane Schneider and Cabela’s Hoffman Estates GM Art Hall will be joining us for dinner at the November 12th club meeting and will be presenting the club the $5,000.00 check.
From all of us here at the FRV Chapter, I want to say THANKS to Cabela’s for their continued support of all of the things we do for our fishery and community. They have been instrumental in supporting our Youth events and many of the events the club hosts are supported by the Cabela’s Hoffman Estates store. As members, I urge all of you to please continue to support and promote the Hoffman Estates store. Anything you need for your outdoor activities whether it’s fishing, hunting or camping can be found at the Hoffman Estates store!
